Story

Ian is trained to the highest level in the UK national "BASI" system (Holder of French Diplome Nationale Equivalence and Carte Professionelle) but eventually with experience and persistent questioning realised that this and all other "national" systems are fundamentally dysfunctional. Designed initially for a commercial mass market approach those systems remain permanently based upon flawed principles - including the misunderstanding of basic mechanics.

Ian made use of his wide range of work and educational experience and developed "MetaSki"- a radically clear approach to skiing based on Newtonian mechanics and focused on Personal Development. (This blog is dedicated to sharing the MetaSki information and providing a high level of client support, with personal video, photo and text support for every lesson) There is no snowplough teaching for beginners and almost every movement taught is initially very counter intuitive and the opposite of current dogma. This quite simply is natural and is what works. It can be related to any other sport or physical activity. All the nonsensical mystery, confusion, fear, unnecessary danger and false limitations people experience in skiing evaporate with this understanding.

Personal Development

All teaching is using MetaSki and is oriented towards ongoing personal development.

Off Piste is oriented towards building confidence and a strong sense of accomplishment.

Coaching

Complete Beginners

Rapid and fun learning - no snowploughs. Skating based movements are used instead.

Intermediates

No more learning plateaux.  Easy, stress free and natural progress to entry level off-piste.

Advanced
Master bumps, racing and challenging off-piste with no mystery and rapid progress.

• We advise a maximum of 4 people in any session and for adults and children to be apart if possible. 
• Best results are normally obtained with one-on-one coaching.
• Arrangements can be made for family and group bookings by contacting us by email or by telephone.
• Family or group bookings can be extremely cost effective and give you great flexibility. 
• The instructor is paid for his time, so you can organise your group or family to suit everyone. 
• Rates change throughout the season. 
• Our day rates are not lower than average but by virtue of our rapid results we are by far the most cost effective solution that you can find! 
• People who return to our instructors in the future do so because they are enjoying success and want to continue with the rapid development.
• We are often fully booked well in advance with returning clients and their friends or families so please think to contact us well in advance of your holiday.

Off Piste Guiding

Max of 6 people for security.
Avalanche transceivers supplied (full security packs and Air Bags can be rented).

• Only the most responsible, safe and experienced guiding. Skier level is respected.

Race Training

Summer and Autumn on Tignes Glacier - winter sessions can be arranged - contact for full details.

Race training is the most effective way to bring your skiing on.
